One Piece Creator Oda Unveils Zoro's Yonko Level Haki Power

One Piece chapter 1193 was officially released on September 13, 2026, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Double Issue #42-43, just before the magazine went on a short hiatus. This chapter was incredibly important for all the combatants when it came to building up the exciting battles in Elbaf, especially against Nerona Imu, the King of the World. At the same time, it also turned a lot of attention to the right-hand man of Luffy, Roronoa Zoro.

The Elbaf arc has been officially confirmed by Eiichiro Oda to be the training ground for both Zoro and Sanji to master the Color of the Supreme King. Now, in Chapter 1193, Zoro has officially taken his Haki to a completely new level, making him stronger than ever before, and taking him ever closer to the level of an Emperor of the Sea.

One Piece Chapter 1193 Finally Sets Up Zoro Conqueror's Haki Control

As the first member to join the Straw Hat Pirates, Zoro's importance to the overarching narrative of One Piece is tremendous. While Zoro aids Luffy on his quest to become the Pirate King, he also has his own ambition that Eiichiro Oda officially highlighted for the very first time in One Piece Chapter #5, which was released on August 25, 1997, in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #39. Zoro aims to become the greatest swordsman in the world, and to do that, he needs to surpass Dracule Mihawk, the man who currently holds this title.

Over the years, Zoro has faced quite a lot of powerful fighters, and through sheer grit and resourcefulness, he has managed to best them all, closing the gap with Mihawk in the process. The most significant step for Zoro came in the Wano Country arc, where he received Oden's beloved blade, Enma. In One Piece chapter 1033, Roronoa Zoro officially tapped into the Color of the Supreme King for the very first time, thanks to Enma, which has the innate ability to draw out a person's latent Haki. Zoro then utilized this power to defeat King the Wildfire in battle in One Piece chapter 1035, which was officially released on December 20, 2021.

Five years later, Zoro is now finally mastering the Color of the Supreme King. Even though he utilized the Color of the Supreme King against King, he was unaware of the fact that he was using it in the first place. Zoro's control over this power was thus severely lacking. In One Piece chapter 1152, which was officially released on June 23, 2025, in Shueisha Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #30, Scopper Gaban confirmed to Zoro that he held the Color of the Supreme King inside him. Gaban also said that until he truly understood how to control this power, he wouldn't be able to bring out his true strength. To that end, Zoro is trying his utmost best to control this ability properly, and now, in One Piece chapter 1193, he has finally gained some control over it.

In the latest September 13, 2026, release of One Piece, Roronoa Zoro was seen trying to infuse his blades with Conqueror's Haki properly while maintaining control over it. At the same time, he utilized this power to tear through Sommers's thorns. Zoro also nearly killed him with a stab straight to the chest. In Zoro's own words, he is still training to improve his Color of the Supreme King and hasn't quite grasped it completely yet, but with each passing chapter, his control over this power is slowly growing. It appears that in the next chapter that is focused on Zoro versus Sommers, the swordsman of the Straw Hat Pirates will take his overall control over the Color of the Supreme King to the next level and finally deal the final killing blow to Saint Sommers.

Zoro's New Training Will Push Him To Yonko Level

The goal of the Elbaf arc has always been to push Luffy's crew to the next level. His two Wings, Zoro and Sanji, are his most precious underlings when it comes to Combatants, and for them, reaching the next level is especially important in this arc. If they want to make Luffy the Pirate King, then they have to try to gain full mastery over the Color of the Supreme King in this arc. With this power fully mastered, Zoro and Sanji will be looking to emulate what Rayleigh and Gaban did for Roger decades ago. In doing so, they will both go on to reach the level of the Emperors of the Sea and eventually go on to even surpass them. As far as Zoro goes, his mastery over the Color of the Supreme King would mean that he's strong enough to take on an Emperor on his own.

In the Wano Country arc, Zoro largely struggled in battle against Kaido, the King of Beasts. Even his best was not enough to put Kaido on his knees. Now, with full mastery over the Color of the Supreme King, Zoro should be able to deal with Kaido just as well as Monkey D. Luffy, although defeating him is a completely different question altogether. Regardless, what we can say with absolute certainty is that Zoro, after gaining full mastery over the Color of the Supreme King in Elbaf, should be held in the same conversations as the Admirals and the Yonko of the One Piece world. This will put him one step closer to reaching the same level as Mihawk.

Zoro Is Finally Ready For Mihawk After Elbaf

Zoro's biggest battle in One Piece is going to be against the strongest swordsman, Dracule Mihawk. He has been training for this battle ever since the two first traded blows in the Baratie arc, where Zoro was utterly humiliated by him. Since then, Zoro has come incredibly far, and now, he has mastered the Color of the Supreme King as well. With One Piece in the final saga already, the battle between Zoro and Mihawk is edging incredibly close. Zoro now stands on the same pedestal as the likes of the Emperors of the Sea. To that end, there isn't much else that he can learn before he goes on to fight against the strongest swordsman.

After the events of Elbaf, Zoro should be ready to face off against Mihawk, with the only upgrade left being turning his own blades black. This upgrade could very well come in the fight against Mihawk, and that is precisely why Zoro Vs. Mihawk could very well be happening after Elbaf.
