PS5 is getting an intriguing new historical action RPG soon, and despite being AAA quality, its publisher is opting for an affordable price tag. Brought to us by One More Level (Ghostrunner games), Valor Mortis will launch on October 13, 2026.
Valor Mortis is a AAA PS5 RPG with the price tag of a AA game, here’s why
Publisher Lyrical Games has announced that Valor Mortis will cost $39.99 when it launches because the game will be competing with major titles for players’ time and money.
“We believe the game has the quality, fidelity, and playtime in its 20-hour story to go toe-to-toe with many full-price titles,” Lyrical Games wrote. “Still, this Fall is stacked, and there’s high demand for your time and money.”
Valor Mortis will not be offering PS Store preorders either because Lyrical Games wants players to let the “completed version of our game do the talking” at launch.
“You’ll be able to buy it when you have a full picture of Valor Mortis’ quality, creativity and craft at launch,” the statement continues. “We think you’ll appreciate how we’re breaking new ground for Soulslikes and first-person action games.”
Valor Mortis will have a premium Deluxe Edition for $59.99, which includes major story DLC and several cosmetic packs.
