Best Teams to Rebuild in NBA 2K27 MyNBA

Whether you want to turn a struggling franchise into a championship contender or build a dynasty from the ground up, MyNBA in 2K27 gives you plenty of ways to reshape the league. But not every team offers the same level of challenge, as some teams need to be completely rebuilt from the ground up in order to be contenders.

While you can always pick a dominant team from the start and run the NBA for the next two decades, where’s the fun in that? Rebuilding a team presents a much larger challenge and tests your ability as a GM. From teams loaded with young talent to franchises desperately in need of a roster overhaul, these are the best NBA 2K27 MyNBA teams to rebuild if you’re looking for a fun and rewarding playthrough. We’ll be listing four rebuild options in total, and the list won’t be in any particular order.

Utah Jazz

The Utah Jazz have been in a perpetual rebuild ever since the trade of Donovan Mitchell, and that certainly isn’t changing in the near future. While the Jazz do have some young talent, such as Ace Bailey, Darryn Peterson, and Kyle Filipowski, the depth pieces on the roster just aren’t enough to compete in the modern NBA. Fortunately, Utah does have a star in Lauri Markkanen, and he’s locked in until 2029. However, to rebuild the Jazz around him, you’ll need to develop several young players and improve the roster’s depth dramatically, which are both no small feats.

Milwaukee Bucks

It’s certainly strange to see the Milwaukee Bucks on a rebuild list, but the departure of franchise icon Giannis Antetokounmpo means the organization has essentially started from scratch. The roster, which certainly wasn’t a contender last season even with Giannis, is now led by Tyler Herro, Kyle Kuzma, and Myles Turner, three career role players. While this isn’t the worst core you could ask for, it’s not great.

Your best bet with the Bucks is to build around the young talent acquired from the Miami Heat in the Giannis trade. Guys like Jaime Jaquez Jr. and Kel’el Ware should be the focal point in the next couple of seasons, along with drafting well and perhaps trading for a star if the chips fall that way.

Los Angeles Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers were already an attractive rebuild option in 2K27, but then Thor’s hammer fell on the organization. The Clippers were stripped of five future first-round draft picks as a result of the Kawhi Leonard investigation, and it remains to be seen how 2K Sports will implement that punishment in MyNBA. Whatever happens, though, the Clippers are in arguably the worst spot of any NBA team for the next several years, as the roster’s current talent won’t even be enough to sniff the Play-In.

Orlando Magic

While we could have chosen another bottom-dwelling team for the final spot on the list, we’re opting for the Orlando Magic instead. The Magic were thought to be on the verge of contending entering last season, but the team flopped as injuries and regressions set in. Now, the Magic have a high-paying core of Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and Desmond Bane, and really no solid options at a couple of positions, including center.

You’ll need to decide whether the core is worth keeping intact or if you’re going to start dumping contracts to totally rebuild Orlando in your image. Whatever you decide to do, you’ll have to work around a tight cap, as the Magic have doled out some interesting contracts over the past couple of years.

With your rebuild underway, make sure you make full use of your roster, including mastering mechanics like the Flashy Pass in NBA 2K27.
