Widowmaker gets second mythic skin in Overwatch

Overwatch just launched its midseason update, and it arrived with a new mythic hero skin for Widowmaker. Called “Void Dancer,” this is the DPS hero’s second-ever mythic.

Widowmaker mythic skin

At Level 1, Widowmaker’s new Void Dancer mythic skin comes with an ability visual effect (VFX), new hair style, and navy and magenta outfit. After unlocking this base skin, players can get Level 2 and customize Windowmaker with two more hair styles.

Then, at Level 3, Void Dancer Widowmaker gets white and green outfits. As for Level 4, she has a sparkly skin VFX. Our screenshot below shows all four levels of this new mythic skin.

This skin also updates Widowmaker’s weapon with a new look in the different colorways.

In terms of the cost of Void Dancer Widowmaker, the base skin at Level 1 requires 50 Mythic Prisms. Subsequent customization levels require 10 Mythic Prisms each.

There’s also the option to purchase the Gilded, Iridescent, and Dawn aspects of Void Dancer Widowmaker. These unlock after getting all four levels of the mythic and require 30 Mythic Prisms each.

Widowmaker gets another mythic skin

As noted, Void Dancer isn’t the DPS hero’s first mythic hero skin. Her first one was Spellbinder Widowmaker, which released in Overwatch 2 Season 13 in 2024. That was back when the game still had the “2” in its name.

Upon learning about Void Dancer Widowmaker, Overwatch players expressed mixed feelings about it. On X, while a few folks praised the skin, many players saw it as underwhelming when compared to other mythics. One user pointed out how it seemed more in line with the Voidwalker collection.

The majority of players on the game’s subreddit also expressed their disappointment. Some of them pointed out that other Overwatch heroes, like Wrecking Ball and Lucio, have yet to receive their first mythic hero skin.

That’s all for now. What are your thoughts on the new Widowmaker mythic skin?
